Sustainable Pole Wear and Aerial Clothing: What to Look For

The pieces you reach for week after week earn their place in your training wardrobe. When choosing sustainable pole wear or aerial clothing, look at more than a broad label: where the fabric comes from, how the garment is made, whether it suits your practice and how you will care for it.

Start with a clear picture of production

At Dragonfly, we use materials made in Italy and develop, cut and sew our clothing at our own workshop in the Czech Republic. That gives us direct involvement in the process, from choosing the fabric to checking the finished piece.

Our brand story explains this approach. A named production location and a traceable supply chain give you something concrete to assess when comparing clothing.

Know what the material offers

Our Italian performance fabrics with LYCRA® fibre are chosen for stretch, shape retention and comfort. We use OEKO-TEX certified materials.

Read the composition and care information for the exact item you are considering. Standard fabric, velvet, mesh and lace have different finishes, so choose the feel and design that suit your sessions.

Choose for the training you actually do

An outfit needs to work for your discipline. Many pole moves need exposed skin for grip, while aerial silks training often calls for more coverage where the fabric wraps around your body.

  • For pole, Mandy mid-rise shorts offer a simple cut with moderate back coverage.
  • For sessions where you want full-length legs, compare Adriana mid-rise leggings.
  • For aerial work with long sleeves and full-length legs, explore the Lara unitard and check it against your studio’s clothing guidance.

Choose pieces you like wearing and that fit your routine. You may be able to use a favourite item across more than one activity, but check grip and coverage requirements first.

New to either discipline? Our guides to choosing a Dragonfly pole outfit and your first aerial silks class explain the fit and coverage to look for.

Make care part of the choice

Follow the garment’s care label. Dragonfly’s general care guidance recommends a gentle wash at no more than 30°C, without fabric softener or bleach. Avoid tumble drying and let the garment dry away from direct sunlight.

Keep the full care instructions handy, especially when adding a new material to your wardrobe. Look at seams, stretch and fit as you use your clothes, so you notice when an item needs attention.

Look for specifics you can check

Responsible production is best understood through specific information about materials, sourcing, manufacturing and long-term use. A single label cannot describe a garment’s entire environmental impact.

Start with the Dragonfly pole wear collection or our aerial silks clothing, then compare the details that matter for your own training wardrobe.
